एक गरीब एक दिन एक सिक्ख के पास अपनी जमीन बेचने गया, बोला सरदार जी मेरी 2 एकड़ जमीन आप रख लो.
सिक्ख बोला, क्या कीमत है ?
गरीब बोला, 50 हजार रुपये.
सिक्ख थोड़ी देर सोच कर बोला, वो ही खेत जिसमें ट्यूबवेल लगा है ?
गरीब: जी. आप मुझे 50 हजार से कुछ कम भी देंगे, तो जमीन आपको दे दूँगा.
सिक्ख ने आँखें बंद कीं, 5 मिनट सोच कर बोला: नहीं, मैं उसकी कीमत 2 लाख रुपये दूँगा.
गरीब: पर मैं तो 50 हजार मांग रहा हूँ, आप 2 लाख क्यों देना चाहते हैं ?
सिक्ख बोला, तुम जमीन क्यों बेच रहे हो ?
गरीब बोला, बेटी की शादी करना है इसीलिए मज़बूरी में बेचना है. पर आप 2 लाख क्यों दे रहे हैं ?
सिक्ख बोला, मुझे जमीन खरीदनी है, किसी की मजबूरी नहीं. अगर आपकी जमीन की कीमत मुझे मालूम है तो मुझे आपकी मजबूरी का फायदा नहीं उठाना, मेरा वाहेगुरू कभी खुश नहीं होगा.
ऐसी जमीन या कोई भी साधन, जो किसी की मजबूरियों को देख के खरीदा जाये वो जिंदगी में सुख नहीं देता, आने वाली पीढ़ी मिट जाती है.
सिक्ख ने कहा: मेरे मित्र, तुम खुशी खुशी, अपनी बेटी की शादी की तैयारी करो, 50 हजार की व्यवस्था हम गांव वाले मिलकर कर लेंगे, तेरी जमीन भी तेरी ही रहेगी.
मेरे गुरु नानक देव साहिब ने भी अपनी बानी में यही हुक्म दिया है.
गरीब हाथ जोड़कर नीर भरी आँखों के साथ दुआयें देता चला गया।
ऐसा जीवन हम भी बना सकते हैं.
बस किसी की मजबूरी न खरीदें, किसी के दर्द, मजबूरी को समझ कर, सहयोग करना ही सच्चा तीर्थ है, एक यज्ञ है. सच्चा कर्म और बन्दगी है.

One poor one day went to sell his land near a Sikh, said Sardar ji, keep my 2 acres of land.
Sikh said, what is the cost?
Poor said, 50 thousand rupees.
Sikh said after thinking for a while, that the field where the tubewell is installed?
Poor: G. If you give me less than 50 thousand, then I will give the land to you.
Sikh closed his eyes and said after thinking for 5 minutes: No, I will give him 2 lakh rupees.
Poor: But I am asking for 50 thousand, why do you want to give 2 lakh?
Sikh said, why are you selling land?
Poor said, daughter has to get married, that's why she has to sell forcefully. But why are you paying 2 lakhs?
Sikh said, I have to buy land, no compulsion. If I know the value of your land, then I should not take advantage of your helplessness, my Waheguru will never be happy.
Such land or any means, which is bought by looking at the compulsions of someone, does not give happiness in life, the future generation disappears.
The Sikh said: My friends, you rejoice, prepare for your daughter's wedding, we will make arrangements for 50 thousand with the villagers, your land will also be yours.
My Guru Nanak Dev Sahib has given the same order in his speech.
Poor hands folded and went on giving prayers with full eyes.
We can also make such a life.
Just don't buy anyone's helplessness, understanding someone's pain, helplessness, cooperation is the true pilgrimage, a yagya. True karma and imprisonment.
